01 — The initiative

Farmer's Footprint is a nonprofit storytelling initiative that inspires people from awareness to action through education and connection. Co-founded by Dr. Zach Bush in 2019, it explores the intersections of agriculture, health, and culture — creating opportunities for people to better understand the connections between food, community, and the living systems that sustain us all.

The work is grounded in human-centered storytelling: films, essays, gatherings, and educational features that make food systems accessible without simplifying them. Nuance is the point. So is curiosity. So is a genuine invitation to move from watching to doing.

Movements grow when stories are shared. They create opportunities to learn from one another, expand perspectives, and discover new possibilities.

02 — Awareness becomes action

The theory of change is stated plainly on the site: every choice, conversation, and connection contributes to the future of our food systems. Together, we can help create conditions where farmers are valued, communities are supported, and landscapes can flourish for generations to come.

That is a big claim, but it is also a specific one. Farmer's Footprint holds space for nuance, curiosity, and creativity, bringing together emerging science, lived experience, and generations of ecological knowledge — the three ingredients most public conversation about food is missing.

The result is stories that do not moralize. They invite.

Movements grow when stories are shared.
03 — Where it lives

Farmer's Footprint is one expression of Biological Storytelling — the system that restores narrative to its original biological function. It sits alongside Harmonize Media (which carries the deeper cultural and lineage register) and Origin (which gathers those stories into one embodied global moment).

Farmer's Footprint tells the story of food and land. Harmonize tells the story of body, lineage, and cultural transmission. Origin tells the story of the whole, in a single planetary breath. Three registers, one narrative arc.

The through-line: shared story is the smallest and most enduring unit of cultural change.

04 — Join the movement

Farmer's Footprint is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Its work is supported by donations, community, and shared attention. The most direct ways in are subscribing to the newsletter, donating, or joining the Biome Collective.
